Ingredients:
1 chicken (+- 2kg cut into pieces)
1 large onion (slivered)
1 tablespoon ginger/garlic
Salt to taste
3 teaspoons chilli powder
2 teaspoons dried crushed red chillies
2 teaspoons dhunia/jeera powder
½ teaspoon pepper
2 whole cinnamon sticks
2 whole elachi
4 cloves
2 bay leaves
1 cup sour milk/yoghurt
1 cup fresh cream or large nestles cream (I prefer nestles cream)
½ cup tomato puree
1 tablespoon lemon juice
200g butter
1 teaspoon gharum masala
½ cup dhunia (chopped)
1 sprig curry leaves
Instructions :
Place chicken pieces in a bowl and add spices (ginger/garlic, salt, chilli powder, crushed chillies, dhunia/jeera powder, pepper), sour milk, tomato puree and lemon juice. Toss well and leave in refrigerator to marinate overnight or 2 to 3 hours.
Add butter to your pot and heat. Add onions together with your cinnamon sticks, elachi, cloves and bay leaves. Fry until softened and golden brown. Add marinated chicken and cook until thick and water almost evaporated. Now add fresh/nestles cream and simmer for a further 6 to 8 minutes. Add gharum masala. Mix well. Remove from stove and garnish with greens. Serve with garlic naan or roti…
